Im going to Texas in May to watch a soccer game in Houston (Reliant Stadium) i was thinking instead of staying in houston, maybe Galveston will be fun? ive never been there, but i went on their website, and i think it will be more fun then houston. am i wrong???? im also in love with 3 hotels! (just from seeing pics from the sites) the st luis, mooody gardens, and hotel galvez….. which one is the nicest???? they are all around same price, so i want the nicest room/ pool/ restaurant. do u think i should even stay in galveston?
As native Houstonian, I would advise you to research a bit more than normal before staying in Galveston. Hurricane Ike in 2008 was more devastating than many realize. The tourist areas are renewed, but other parts of town that include hotels and the like could still be in decay, making you a target for theft.
Staying in the southeast suburbs of Houston may be a good fit since you could make equidistant trips to both Reliant Stadium and the attractions in Galveston.

I’m sure you realize it’s not close to Reliant Stadium. But if you want to go, here’s my choice in order from best to not as nice.
Moody Gardens
St Luis
Hotel Galvez
But I haven’t visited any of them since the hurricane.
