I am going on the Carnival Conquest leaving out of Galveston. We booked the basic state room. Are the bathrooms self-contained-meaning–is the toilet, shower, sink etc. all closed off from the rest of the bed and such or is just the toilet and shower in the bathroom and then the vanity outside?
The bathrooms are self-contained. Everything is inside the bathroom. The shower, sink/vanity, mirror and toilet. You have a door for privacy. It is usually a pretty good size bathroom.
Hope I helped!

Self contained: toilet, sink and shower are all in one room

The bathrooms contain/include a toilet, shower stall, vanity/facebowl with mirrors and storage space for your personals (toothbrush/hair brush, lotions, etc.) and a shelf under the facebowl that can hold a few things also. Then in the cabin outside the bathroom will be a small vanity area with mirrors, including a hair dryer.

I’ve been on 2 carnvial cruises. The bathroom and shower are closed out of the cabin, and the vanity is outside of the bathroom.
