I know there is a firework ban in Harris County but what about Galveston and the surrounding counties? want to know before I get myself in trouble.

From Galveston, TX to the Bolivar peninsula just ENE of the island. I drive an 18 wheeler and that route could be shorter for some of my loads, but you just don’t go experimenting when you’re driving the big trucks. Hard to turn around in some situations.
Vehicle maximum weight is 80,000 lbs, maximum length is 65 feet, maximum height is 13.5 feet and the maximum width is 8.5 feet.
So how many wheels is not the issue.

Friends and I plan to go to a uncharted beach in galveston, Is it illegal to hang out on unwatched beaches in Galveston? someone were to come could we get into trouble by chance?
There is no such thing anymore as uncharted beaches or uncharted waters. Everything was charted a long time ago. The beaches in Texas are all public property. You are free to come and go as you please. Just be sure to use the public beach access and don’t trespass on private property and homes along the beach.

In other words, of all the oil refineries spread throughout the Greater Houston-Galveston-Texas City area, which one emits the most foul smelling odors out to the surrounding neighborhoods? How bad is it?
Around Pasadena, the smells start blending together.
The rotten egg smell is sulfur.

I am a student who is planning to visit Houston Texas with a friend and we wanted to know if there is any public transportation we can take to go from Houston to Galveston and we just want to visit there for like a day so we are looking at something like going in the morning and coming back in the evening.
Also if there are any must see attraction and place to visit in Galveston. Thank You =D
The only buss that leaves the island is the bus that connects Mall of the Mainland with Galveston.

I’m doing a research project on the hurricane of galveston in 1900, and i can’t find the cost of emergency services to the residents of galveston, the estimated cost of cleanup, the population after the storm, major industries after the storm, and important companies and businesses after the storm

Other then churches, there wasn’t any. You’d have to research the various church organizations to get an estimate. Texas likely sent in the rangers and possibly called up units of the state army (known as the guard now) to help but government aid organizations, especially at the federal level, were very few.

trying to buy a home to be moved to small lot in Galveston county, wondering if we could get a home equity loan at that point to fix it up? or what options would be available, will take all our funds to buy and move it to the lot.

It is possible, but everything is dependent on the value of the improved property where the house will be moved. Assuming the house you will be moving is not a mobile home, the value of the lot your already own will rise dramatically, but you are not guaranteed the value of what you paid for the house will exist at the new location. Once the house is moved an appraisal will need to be done to determine how much equity exists to borrow against. If you know you will need the loan, it is best you sit down with a local mortgage broker to determine if you will even be allowed to borrow as you will have to have an adequate credit rating and income to repay the loan. To estimate how much may be available to you (and this is an unreliable method), you could identify the tax valuation of the house you plan to move (houses are usually valued separately from land by the tax assessor) and add it to the lot you already own (as valued by the tax assessor)

I would really like to throw my boyfriend a surprise birthday party in early November. I was thinking about a beach house in Galveston or Surfside since it would be off season and might get a good deal, but all the ones I find won’t rent for parties. I would even consider a rental house somewhere in Houston since it would be closer for me.
