How good are Galveston guitars?

I recently picked up a Galveston Flying V from a yard sale, I was wondering how good the guitars are in quality, it’s a bit of a hard call since it has been owned for two years, I can tell that the knobs are definitely not original though. I can’t find an official site or anything so can anyone tell me about them?

Also the only ones that I’ve found online are all acrylic but I can say that this one is black with a white fret board.

Predicting Wave Conditions?

I live near Galveston island off the coast of Texas. I’d like to start surfing here but because of the shallow shoreline good size waves don’t come often. I can’t seem to find any information on my area from surf sites, probably because it’s not a major spot.
What are some good resources to help me predict when we will get good size waves to surf?

No surfer will tell you about great surf sports because who’d want crowds turning up to your secret spot?

My tip is get the boys or the missus and go for a road trip along the coast 1 weekend. That way, you can check out your whole coastline and find your own special spot and it’s all the more sweeter because of your trip.

A Good Website to Use for Wave Updates (Surfing)?

What is a good website that does daily updates on wave predicitions for different regions(specifically the Texas Coast near Galveston)? Because of the shape of the shore the waves are normally small so I’d like to find a site that I can check out to see when or if the waves will be worth surfing.

Okay, so i wanna start long boarding. my ex got me into skateboarding but i kinda wasn’t into it as much. i need help on which is better for a beginner(i need stability and easy to maneuver) and which is better for just riding around the neighborhood and possibly taking to Galveston and ride down there(when i get better at it) and what kind of wheels and trucks do i need for a beginner. and also a great brand to recommend. and a good site to order from(if i have to buy online)

a cheap way from hou to galveston tx?

i know theres a airport in galveston (GLS) but i cannot find any site that books tickets or knows the airport. so im stuck with hou for now. so is there any cheap way i can get to galveston from houston or does anyone know how i can get a ticket form lax to hou.

There are no commercial flights into Galveston airport. That airport is only for private planes.

There really is no regular public transportation between Houston and Galveston. If you are going on a cruise out of galveston then check with your cruise line. They have buses that run from the Houston airports to Galveston Cruise terminal. It is only on cruise days.

Houston Hobby Airport (HOU) is the closest major airport to Galveston. It is about a 45 minute drive. Rental Car is the best way to get to Galveston.

George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is north of Houston and is about 90 minute drive to Galveston or longer if you hit traffic in town.

I always hear frequent cruiser tell me that the "deals" that I get are not really deals at all. Like last year in August my husband and I took a cruise, we booked a balcony-aft view….on Carnival, it was the beginning of Aug and departing from galveston, tx and back to galveston, tx. It was a four day cruise to the western Caribbean. It cost $1250 tax/tips included all together. I was told that was a bad deal. I swear I checked every cruise site I knew about and I got the same prices as Carnival.com. For the frequent cruises on here, what sites do you go on to get better deals than the cruises website? thanks.
Chris and Felma, those are the same prices as well. Is there anything specific I should be inputting into the search selections?

I have found that the travel websites that specialize in cruises often have better deals than what you can get directly from the cruise line. How much you pay also depends on when you book. Booking either far in advance or at the last minute can sometimes get you a better deal. The last minute bookings don’t give you as much choice as to your cabin, but can sometimes be good deals. I’ve looked at the G4S site and the AlliedBarton Site to see if they have offices out there but they don’t, so I’m hoping someone will see this and let me know of any companies out there and maybe if they pay decently for a Commissioned Officer.

Is it possible to go to Galveston, TX by train from Norman, OK?

I tried booking through Amtrak site but couldn’t find anything linking the two around spring break

There is an Amtrak station in Norman. Norman is on the route of the Heartland Flyer, which goes from OK City to Ft Worth TX.
But Amtrak doesn’t go to Galveston. They do have a bus stop for their Thruway bus service, to link up with the Sunset Limited (New Orleans to LA, but nowhere near Ft Worth)
