I would really like to throw my boyfriend a surprise birthday party in early November. I was thinking about a beach house in Galveston or Surfside since it would be off season and might get a good deal, but all the ones I find won’t rent for parties. I would even consider a rental house somewhere in Houston since it would be closer for me.

It is about 12 miles of pure I-45 from texas city to galveston. I was just wondering how much traffic will i face duringrush hour, because I will be commuting everyday to galveston around 7 30 am , 8 am etc..andcoming back to texas city area by 6pm

It’s really not that bad…I commute everyday to Galveston for work from Webster…but I leave about 7 am…to get to work by 8 am …I arrive about 20-25 mins early everyday….so there is really no traffic…I leave work about 5pm and the traffic is still good…until you get to Bay Area Exit….that’s when the traffic starts about 5:15-6:45….but I guess you really don’t have to go that far.

I am new to fishing and I was wondering where I should go. I live and would like to fish in the clear lake and galveston area and don’t really know where to begin. I know I can go all the way down to san luis pass but where are some banks/ docks I can fish off of. I don’t have a boat and I’m not huge on the idea of surf fishing to be quite honest. Spots in clear lake, taylor lake, and the bay would be awesome.

Summer flounder are hanging around Seawolf Park on the channel side with some speckled trout on the sandy banks. Try around Seawolf Park.

I have a history powerpoint that im doing and I just wanted a better and simpler explanation on how Galveston drain out the water form the city.

Although water pumps existed in 1900 – the amount of water to be moved was likely outside of the capabilities. Most of it probably evaporated, private pumping in limited areas was probably also done, but not to any great scale.

Well we plan to go to Galveston. last time we went there was a lot of trash but that was some months ago. Where is a great beach? Please gives details! Thanks!

SPI is nice but it’s also a 6 hour drive. If you are going to Galveston, try Jamaica Beach. It’s usually less crowded and pretty clean (for Galveston!)

A group of friends and family (small children included) would like to go to Galveston. We have not been since Ike and do not know what is open or what is not. We only would like to go for the day and are taking our own food. It would be nice to be able to set up a tent and volleyball net but not neccessary if not permitted.

Hi I live in Alvin and i play beach volleyball at Stewart Beach right there on the sea wall. Stewart Beach is a non-acholic family beach. They have this HUMONGOUS inflatable water slide, sometimes up during Spring Break which right about now. It’s so much fun. Hope you have a great time at Stewart Beach!!
