Just some quick shots for you to see what the park looks like. The sites are tight. We got site 32 I believe, It has extra room because of the transformer next to. It is set up to where half the campsites have the picnic table on the other side of the trailer. It was fun but I prefer Galveston.

I will be in San Antonio for 4 months and want to take advantage of my closeness to the costal texas cities by seeing the World War II ships and such.
Are there any in Corpus Christi? Houston? Galveston?

The USS CAVALLA — a WWII submarine with a great history — is in Galveston. There is a DE (the STEWART) alongside the CAVALLA. You can find a listing of all submarine museums here (1).

The USS LEXINGTON is in Corpus Christi. (2)

There’s a midget Japanese submarine in Fredricksburg TX at the National Museum of the Pacific War. (3)

If you really want to have an interesting visit to the CAVALLA, why not volunteer for a "work weekend". Contact the COB (Chief-of-the-boat) and climb aboard. (4) (For more info on this EM me.)
